FutureDotNow has launched its new Workforce Readiness Tool, providing employers with a practical way to measure and understand how prepared their workforce is for an increasingly digital and AI-enabled world.
As organisations accelerate the adoption of AI and digital technologies, many face a common challenge: understanding whether their people have the confidence, skills and support they need to thrive.
The Workforce Readiness Tool has been designed to help answer that question. The new tool provides employers with a clearer picture of workforce readiness, helping them identify gaps, quantify their impact on profits and productivity, and prioritise action to support successful workforce transformation.
Technology alone does not deliver transformation. Organisations succeed when their people are equipped with the skills and confidence to use new tools effectively.
FutureDotNow’s research consistently shows that digital capability remains a significant challenge across the UK workforce, with millions of working-age adults lacking the essential digital skills needed for work. Research from FutureDotNow and Cebr found that improving workforce digital capability could contribute more than £23 billion to the UK economy each year.
At the same time, FutureDotNow’s work on the future of essential digital skills highlights the growing importance of AI literacy, critical evaluation of AI outputs, responsible use of AI and effective interaction with AI tools.
The Workforce Readiness Tool has been developed to help organisations understand how prepared their workforce is for this new reality.
Using the answers to just four simple questions, the tool generalates a tailored Workforce Digital and AI Readiness Report that helps employers:
By providing actionable insights, the tool enables organisations to move beyond assumptions and make informed decisions about workforce development, digital skills and AI adoption.
The Workforce Readiness Tool is currently being released as part of a beta testing phase.
FutureDotNow is working closely with employers and partners to test, refine and improve the experience, ensuring the tool delivers meaningful, practical insights that organisations can use with confidence.
Feedback from beta participants will help shape the next stage of development and ensure the tool meets the needs of employers across different sectors, workforce sizes and levels of digital maturity.
The launch of the Workforce Readiness Tool supports FutureDotNow’s wider mission to close the UK’s workforce digital skills gap and help millions more people develop the skills they need for life and work.
As AI continues to reshape jobs, organisations and industries, understanding workforce readiness is becoming a business imperative. Employers that invest in their people and build confidence alongside capability will be best placed to realise the benefits of technological change.
The Workforce Readiness Tool is designed to help organisations take that next step, turning insight into action and helping create a workforce that is ready for the opportunities ahead.
