Essential digital capability in the construction and infrastructure sector supports productivity, safety and quality across complex projects. It enables the workforce to improve efficiency through new technologies, data‑driven processes and modern methods of delivery.

With leadership from Amey, Bouygues Construction and Community Coworking, our Construction and Infrastructure sector team is delivering an action plan to make the workforce digital skills gap a recognised priority across the sector and to build active commitment through employer leadership and Charter signatories.

Our sector team is building targeted engagement channels to reflect this diversity and support organisations across three key areas:

  • Construction
  • Infrastructure
  • Engineering

Alongside mobilising sector‑wide engagement, our Construction and Infrastructure partners are demonstrating what good looks like through employer‑led action within their own organisations.

2026 action plan priorities

In 2026, the Construction and Infrastructure sector team will prioritise high‑impact partnerships that demonstrate practical, employer‑led solutions to the digital skills gap. This includes deepening sector engagement and supporting the supply‑chain to enable skills development at scale.

The team will focus on converting awareness into commitment by growing Charter signatories, sharing learning from early pilots, and encouraging adoption of proven approaches.
