Tools and Solutions
For employers to have a meaningful impact on the workforce digital skills gap, they need practical tools and clear next steps. Many organisations know there is a problem but lack the resources and guidance to act effectively or consistently across their business.
Our Tools and Solutions workstream aims to turn insight into action by creating a structured, accessible pathway for progress. Anchored in the Organisational Maturity Framework, it will make it easy for organisations to understand, measure and ultimately close their skills gap, with the right support for each stage.
2026 priorities
We are focused on building a coherent system of tools, resources and guidance that supports organisations at every stage of their journey:
- Establishing a shared language
Embed the maturity framework as a common way for organisations to understand and describe their progress, supported by a practical self-assessment tool that enables consistent measurement. - Enabling action through tailored support
Curate and map a comprehensive set of tools and solutions against each stage of maturity, ensuring organisations can quickly find relevant, high-quality resources that help them take the next step. - Strengthening the membership experience
Use maturity insights to deliver a more personalised journey, with clear differentiation between open-access resources that build awareness and member-only content that drives sustained value over time.
How we're delivering the workstream
Our Tools and Solutions action plan will set out how we will design and develop the content and resources that underpin this work. This includes creating a self-assessment process, defining the questions and methodology that support it, and mapping existing and new resources to each stage of maturity.
Organisations will be able to assess their position so they can access guidance aligned to their needs, and take action to build digital capability. Over time, this approach will enable FutureDotNow to capture insight, continuously improve the offer, and make it easier for organisations to act at scale.
