We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager who takes a results-driven approach and is keen to work for an agile, high-impact, purpose-driven organisation.

  • Reports to: Executive Office (CEO, Liz Williams MBE and COO, Holly Chate)
  • Location of work: Fully remote, with a possibility to attend one or two meetings in London
  • Duration: Initial 3-month period (May-July 2024)
  • Hours: 16 hrs p/w (highly flexible on working hours across the week, but will require some coverage on a Monday as a key planning day for the team)
  • Salary range: Up to £500 a week, a maximum of £6,500 for 3 months dependant on skills and experience
  • Invoicing: GBP; payment by bank transfer within 30 days of submitting invoice
  • Start date: May 2024

In July 2023 FutureDotNow launched Closing the UK workforce essential digital skills gap: A roadmap for action, co-created with business and government. It set out 10 recommendations for action across 3 workstreams: Strategy, Delivery and Culture.

Following this, three business-led working groups helped shaped the Delivery Plan for 2024, published in mid-January. Between January and March, a first sprint of activity was delivered, with more than 40 organisations playing a role.

We are now seeking a freelance Programme Manager to manage and facilitate the delivery of multiple, concurrent workstreams that form Sprint 2 of the 2024 Delivery Plan to close the UK workforce digital skills gap. They will take responsibility for overseeing all aspects of planning, implementation, and process for an initial period of 3 months, culminating in an end of sprint workshop.

The workstreams are co-chaired by industry experts with team members and advisors from across industry and government. We’re pleased to have already secured participation from Accenture, Amey, Barclays, Cabinet Office, Cisco, Department of Science, Innovation and Technology, Deloitte, Lloyds Banking Group, PwC, M&S, NHS England, Nominet, Oliver Wyman, UFI and more.
